Yang Yang

Artistic Director, Chief Instructor, and Chief Choreographer

Award-winning Chinese-Canadian dancer, Yang Yang, graduated from the Minzu University of China College of Dance. Yang Yang has presented Chinese culture in performances throughout Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, Canada, the United States, Hong Kong, and Macau. Under the expert tutelage of her mother, renowned dance choreographer, artistic director and instructor - Cindy Yang, Yang Yang has learnt to understand and portray the unique dance styles of ethnic minority cultures from different regions of China. Her performances, full of grace and passion, have led audiences everywhere into her world of dance. An inspirational teacher and choreographer, Yang Yang has given her heart and soul to promoting Chinese ethnic dance, and consequently, she has received numerous choreographer awards in various dance competitions, including the American Dance Award and the Canadian Terpsichore Dance Celebration. In 2009, Yang Yang led her dance team to China and competed in the Taoli Cup Dance Competition, one of China’s most prestigious professional competitions. Her team received 7 awards, and she received the “Best Choreographer” award in the competition

Ning Tang

Tang Ning graduated from the Minzu University of China College of Dance, majoring in folk dance of various Chinese ethnic minorities. She is a former dancer of the Central Ethnic Minorities Song And Dance Ensemble. In 2003, she took part in the 7th Taoli Cup National Dance Competition, and her Dai Minority solo “Rain Bamboo Forest” won Second Place and the Excellent Performance Award. In 2004, she participated in the Second Northern China Five Provinces Dance Competition and won First Place with the Dai Minority group dance “Water Town.” In 2005, Ning participated in the Third CCTV Dance Competition and won Second Place with the Dai Minority group dance “Water Town.” In 2005, she participated in the Lotus Cup National Dance Competition, and the Tujia Minority dance “Girls Waving Hands” won the Top Ten Performance Award. In 2006, she participated in the 8th Taoli Cup National Dance Competition, the Wa Minority group dance “Mountain Fire” won Third Place of the drama category and Third Place in the performance category. In 2006, she participated in the recording of the Tibetan dance teaching course of Professor Ciren Somme at the Dance College of the Minzu University of China. The recording was then listed as the teaching demonstration of the Tibetan dance curriculum in Beijing.

Gloria Huang

Born in Dalian, China, Gloria joined the Shanghai Dance Academy at the age of ten and was later admitted to the Tianjin Academy of Music and Dance to further her studies in dance. In 2015, she had the privilege to perform at the Tianjin Spring Festival Gala and in 2016, she participated in the prestigious Achievement Exhibition of the 11th “Taoli Cup” National Dancing Education Performance. Gloria has been the principal dancer in many elite dance productions, including Dai Minority dance “Soul of the Forest,” the Chaoxian Minority dance “Ali’s Sky,” the Yi Minority dance “Caught in the Rain,” and the Han dance “Ballad of My Heart.” In the summer of 2016, Gloria studied in China for the Chinese Dance Graded Examinations Instructor Training Course and acquired her certificate with honours.
