Soul of Dance 2025

“Soul of Dance” is a bi-annual dance production presented by the Cindy Yang Dance Academy of Canada to audiences in the Greater Vancouver area for the past 35 years through 16 iterations. This has been a glorious history built through the collective efforts of generations of students, teachers, parents, media partners, and dedicated supporters.

Dance is one of humanity’s oldest art forms. It is not only the movement of the body but also the transmission of culture, history, and emotion. The dances of different ethnic groups embody their ways of life, beliefs, and values. With this understanding, our approach to teaching goes far beyond technique. We guide our dancers to appreciate cultural depth, to understand artistic meaning, and to cultivate focus, confidence, and expressiveness through the process of dance. After another year of hard work, we proudly present “Soul of Dance 2025”.

Experience the aesthetic and culture of several pieces in this year's production, including the award-winning Jing Minority dance “Echoes in the Waves", Han Tang dance “Splendor of Chang’an" that brings to life the grandeur of the Tang Dynasty, student co-choreographed pieces, the grand production of “Ode to the Yellow River", and many more.
